Initial Consultation (80 minutes)
Our first appointment will serve primarily to explore your concerns, discuss what could be helpful, and assess whether we are a good fit to work together. Once we have decided to work together, we will talk about how often to meet and whether we will meet for therapy or primarily for medication management.
Second Opinion Consultation (3 hours)
This is for patients who feel stuck in their mental health treatment and would like to investigate why. As part of this consultation, I will meet with you in my office for 2-3 hours, and I will speak to your current mental health treaters. We will have a follow-up appointment to review my impressions and I will also provide a written impression for your treatment team.
Follow Up with Psychotherapy (50 minutes)
I meet with patients who see me for therapy either weekly or every other week.
Follow Up for Medication Management (25 minutes)
I also offer shorter visits for patients who are seeing me primarily to manage their medications.
Extended (>1 hour) Session with Psychotherapy
In some cases, patients may desire a longer session or an ISTDP "block" therapy. These sessions may be up to 3 hours.
Psychotherapy Supervision (50 minutes)
I offer supervision in ISTDP and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
Please reach out to me or to my assistant for questions about my fees.
Conditions Treated
Most people come to see me because they are experiencing depression, anxiety, and/or the effects of trauma. They are feeling stuck in their symptoms, or stuck in patterns in their life or work that do not serve them. They may be wondering if they need medications to help, or if the medications they take are helping; they may wish to avoid medications entirely. They may have tried different psychotherapies without success, and want to try a different approach.
In addition to depression, anxiety, and PTSD, I am also experienced in using medications to treat conditions like ADHD/ADD, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and bipolar disorder.
I enjoy working with a diversity of people from a diversity of backgrounds. I have worked with college and graduate students, CEOs, professionals, physicians, therapists, parents/caregivers, LGBTQ+ individuals, writers, artists, and empaths.
